What’s On

October in Australia means the entertainment scene has started to heat up and
the buzz of Spring in the air welcomes sunnier days and warmer nights.

  • Soak Bathhouse

    Queensland’s favourite spa destination, Soak Bathhouse, is coming to central Bondi Junction in 2024. Offering the finest in wellness and relaxation, the NSW home will have a range of amenities including two large mineral pools, three hot spring-inspired thermal spas, saunas, cold plunge pools, massages, and facials.

  • Swiftposium

    For all the local and eager Taylor Swift fans, Australia is set to hold a world-first international academic symposium on the ‘impact of Taylor Swift’. The three-day event will draw researchers from across the globe to explore Taylor’s influence on the music industry, culture, and economy. The event will be held in February 2024 during the same week the famed Eras Tour arrives down under. Speakers and ticketing will be finalised over the next few weeks.

  • Pink Flamingo

    Gather your sequins because a new cabaret theatre venue is launching this summer. Following the success of its first venue in Broadbeach, the team are opening a second site in Brisbane. Expect all the glitz and glamour, riotous entertainment, and boozy cocktails.

    The Yarra River’s oldest public boathouse has returned after a $5.8 million revamp and is entering a new era of dining, drinking and entertainment. The transformation has been completed by the ingenious group at Australian Venue Co, of Morris House and The Espy institution. Whether you are indulging at the Conservatory Dining Room, enjoying a woodfired pizza at the Pavilion Bar, sipping on a coffee at The Perch, or lining up at the gelato cart, patrons will bask at the generous views of the Yarra River from all angles.

  • Showroom Bar

    The Royce Hotel has lifted the curtains on its new Showroom Bar. The art-deco inspired interiors feature towering ceilings, curved staircases, a nine-metre bar, tiered chandeliers, extravagant velvet rugs, and enough chrome and leather to make any Rolls-Royce enthusiast delighted. Executive head chef, Pawan Dutta, formerly of Ritz-Carlton Doha, has created an extravagant all-day dining menu.   • Jacksons On George

    Once a beloved late-night CBD pub, Jacksons on George has reopened as a three-storey dining precinct. Legendary restauranteur Maurice Terzini and Michael Broom have reimagined the site to create three contemporary venues with great food and drinks traversing with art and music. Starting on the ground floor, the Public Bar offers a laid-back, grab-and-go style menu. On the second floor, Bistro George, will carry the origins of the late-night days, offering live jazz after 11pm. The rooftop has an al-fresco aesthetic with an elevated menu.

  • Feast At The Quarry

    This unique experience promises a blend of exceptional food and beautiful surroundings, gathering nature lovers and food enthusiasts in the Wellington National Park. Enjoy a stand-up cocktail luncheon with live blues and county sounds or sit-down for a four-course culinary journey of Japanese influence under the stars. Internationally renowned chef Scott Hallsworth will be curating both menus. Hallsworth is originally from Collie and is now based in London, famed for his role as head chef at Nobu London.

    Returning for its eighth season on the Yarra, Arbory Afloat is taking guests away to sunny Mexico, combining the spirt of Tulum and Oaxaca in a jungle-meets-beach paradise. Patrons will be invited to bask in the sunshine and indulge in a menu of age-old Mexican recipes prepared with modern flair.     The Queen Vic Market is bringing European ‘summer down under’ on Wednesday nights at the Europa Night Market.     Australia’s most prestigious yacht club, the home of the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, is now also home to an all-day restaurant.
