  • Matkim

    The 18-course meal at Matkim is an extensive, multi-hour experience, limited to just eight guests each evening. This exclusive dining event is set in a sophisticated venue and draws inspiration from the four elements - earth, wind, water, and fire - symbolized by the black trigrams on the South Korean flag. And while omakase menus are often a showcase of traditional cuisine, Matkim aims to recreate classic Korean dishes using Western ingredients.

    Adam and Elisa Mariani, a brother-sister team, are launching their third European-inspired eatery, Elio’s Place. The venue will feature Italian-focused dishes, complemented by a daily aperitivo hour from 3 pm to 5 pm, offering a variety of snacks and reasonably priced wines from both Old and New World producers.   • World-first Premiere: Puccini’s II Trittico

    Puccini’s celebrated but rarely performed triptych II Trittico will have an historic staging this month when Opera Australia presents the world premiere of a new production. Puccini interweaves three one-act operas, from a drama of passion set on the quays of the Seine in the early 20th century, a burlesque farce set in medieval Florence, and a mystical tragedy set in a 17th century convent.

  • Now Showing: Pharoah Exhibition

    Pharaoh is a landmark exhibition that celebrates three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture.     As if sliding down hills in toboggans, enhancing ski and snowboard skills isn’t enough activity, some of the ski resorts are really turning on this winter. At Mt Baw Baw you can take a walk with the resident dingos. Every Tuesday afternoon at Falls Creek, there’s a family-friendly street party with music, games and a fire pit to toast marshmallows over. At Mt Hotham there will be a fireworks display lighting up the sky every Wednesday night.
